The Treeplague Famine

The Treeplague strikes Yarsar, creating a city-wide, months-long famine. The second elven exodus from Yarsar begins, resulting in the first coastal settlements near what would eventually become Venmouth. Ehren enters Yarsar through a fairy door and brings new, plague-resistant fruits and vegetables from Greely’s Grove, ending the famine. Ehren begins his quest to cure the Treeplague.

Here Comes The CreeperJack

In the midst of the Treeplague, sightings of The CreeperJack multiply in Yarsar, especially at night. Panic grips the elves and they refuse to go out after dark. Ehren announces that he will investigate and promises to send The CreeperJack back to wherever it came from. Three weeks into his investigation, the sightings miraculously end.

On Juin 18, Ehren plays a series of card games vs. Queen Jillian Floquet. The stakes are nothing less than the independence and freedom of Yarsaria. Unable to reason clearly in her presence, Ehren loses and the lands of the elves remain part of the Queendom.

Treeplague Cured

Naramon Ehrenfell protesting in Froupolis for Yarsarian Independence

Rise of Naramon

The child saved by Ehren assumes the name Naramon Ehrenfell and leads a group of elven protestors to Froupolis to campaign for elven independence.

The Ehrenfell Agreement

Naramon Ehrenfell convinces Queen Jillian Floquet that after the fall of Ehren, Yarsaria can support itself and deserves independence. He argues that the defeat of the Joduin proves that Yarsaria can defend itself. Jillian agrees to terms on Yarsarian independence that may only be shared with Naramon Ehrenfell and his direct descendants.

Yarsaria’s First King

After two years of debate over government and laws, leaders in Yarsaria, including the Argen people, agree on a parliamentary monarchy. Naramon Ehrenfell is crowned the First King of Yarsaria by Queen Jillian Floquet herself in the most extravagant coronation ceremony in Yarsarian history. Froupolis chocolates and Jillian’s famous lemon cake are served to Naramon’s guests. Hudrik Ulmond, an Argen leader and member of Yarsarian Parliament, is crowned the Argen King days later.

Adalei of the House of Yar

After decades of courting, Naramon marries Adalei of the House of Yar. While Adalei is not a direct descendant of the fallen hero from the Battle for Sennzia, she traces a lineage back to Yar’s sister, Margatha. The union solidifies Naramon’s popularity, and Adalei is almost universally loved by the elven people as Yarsaria’s first Queen. The von Wersias, though invited to the ceremony, do not attend.

Alfheim the Heir

Glacian Elves

After a year-long sea voyage, Prince Alfheim, Captain of The Unborn Princess, stumbles across the remote island of Lakvein. Far past Sorrowcrest, beyond all known maps at the edge of the void, Lakvein is found to be the native home of the Glacian elves.

Jielwa, Argen King

On Froide 30, Hudrik Ulmond, the First King of the Argen, dies at the age of 365. Having outlived all of his sons, Hudrik leaves behind only his daughter from his fifth marriage. Jielwa Ulmond assumes the throne at just 17 years of age. Jielwa identifies as a woman but orders her subjects to address her as King. She refuses to wear a crown and begins investing her father’s miserly-saved wealth on completely renovating Argen’s infrastructure, ushering in the Argen Renaissance.

Naramon’s Passing

After three-and-a-half centuries of prosperity for the Kingdom of Yarsaria, its first king, Naramon Ehrenfell, falls ill. Naramon dies surrounded by family and friends on Janvier 19. It is the end of an era and Yarsaria mourns. Queen Jillian Floquet of Sennzia attends Naramon’s funeral and gives a powerful eulogy that is now etched on the First King Memorial. Historic storms and flooding batter Narmeth and the Yarsarian coastline.

The Viridian King

Already 339 years old and in questionable health himself, Alfheim Ehrenfell becomes the second king of Yarsaria. His coronation ceremony is performed by the ancient fairy, Jahalzounée, a veteran of the Battle for Sennzia.

Argen Prince Kuriel

King Jielwa gives birth to her one and only child, Prince Kuriel. Though many men step forward to claim parentage of the boy, Jielwa declines to identify any as the father. Jielwa refuses any assistance from a nanny and is extremely selective in choosing Kuriel’s tutors.

The Kingplague Strikes

On Froide 11, a secret society of elven terrorists reveal themselves for the first time. The Kingplague attacks King Alfheim in his home, masked and armed with poison blades. Unarmed, barefoot and in his robes, completely surrounded, the Viridian King defends his wife, Madonna du Londe. Alfheim disarms and defeats the would-be assassins, many of whom flee into the night, escaping justice. The Kingplague fails to draw blood, as neither king nor queen suffer so much as a scratch. The king’s knuckles are sore for weeks, however.

Prime Minister Anthozem Carrd retires without seeking a 19th term

Anthozem Steps Down

After an unprecedented 360 years and 18 straight elections won as Prime Minister, Anthozem Carrd chooses not to run for a 19th term and steps down from the office of Prime Minister. Crowds of Ambrosian and Zaharan elves show up as they leave Parliament to offer gratitude and praise.

King Jielwa Passes

King Jielwa passes away after 179 years of reign at the age of 196. The Diamond Age of the Argen Renaissance ends. Jielwa’s only child, Kuriel Ulmond, becomes the new Argen King. “The Diamond King,” a monolithic, reflective mineral sculpture of Jielwa begun by the late Amalko Yetell is completed by the jeweler, Oginere Durakis, and unveiled in Jielwa’s honor at her memorial service. The Golden Age of the Argen Renaissance begins.

Syzzic Immigration

Yarsaria experiences the beginning of a chain migration of Syzzic elves from the Damrian Delta region. They migrate up past Lannanel and begin settling the Elves’ Bend River along Greely’s Grove. The Syzzics begin terraforming the riverbanks to create a series of mudpit spa resorts.

The Orphan Knight

A young orphan girl calling herself Heron Hammercrest infiltrates a secret Kingplague headquarters in Yarsar. After a daring escape, she reports their plans and location to the Yarsarian military. Their plot to murder Prince Tatharius is foiled and young Heron is hailed as a hero. She is knighted by King Alfheim for extraordinary service to the crown. Heron is the youngest person to ever be knighted and joins the Yarsarian military.

Prince Kuriel Dies

After just 98 years as King, Kuriel dies at the age of 249. The Golden Age of the Argen Renaissance ends. The first-born of Kuriel’s many elderly sons, Darmel, becomes the new Argen King. So begins the Silver Age of the Argen Renaissance.

Alfheim Abdicates

After two hundred years of rule, and at the age of five hundred and forty-five years, Alfheim Ehrenfell abdicates the throne to allow his son, Tatharius, to take over as the Third King of Yarsaria. Tatharius is crowned by Opena Voire, a fairy woman from Froupolis and a high-ranking Sennzian Marshal. Viridian retires in Narmeth with his wife, Madonna du Londe, and vanishes from the public eye.

Tatharius Proposes

After a few years of long-distance courtship between them, Tatharius proposes to Marshal Opena Voire. The Yarsarian public is split by the news. Some believe that a fairy queen will be good for Yarsaria-Sennzia relations. Others believe that since fairies cannot have children, the lack of a blood heir to maintain the Ehrenfell Agreement will usher in the end of the kingdom and Yarsaria’s independence from Sennzia.

Opena’s Unwishing

Just days before they are to be wed, Marshal Opena Voire is unwished and turns to dust in King Tatharius’ arms. King Tatharius refuses food and ignores matters of state for months on end. The Kingplague begins staging public protests against the crown, always hiding their faces behind bizarre masks.

Tatharius Marries

On Juin 10, the Yarsarian King Tatharius Ehrenfell marries Princess Neema Ulmond of Argen. The ceremony and celebration take place underground in Argenheim. The royal lines of Yarsaria and Argen are joined in matrimony for the first time. The Yarsarian custom of the crown is honored, and Neema becomes the first royal Argen to wear one in 325 years. Neema is the great grand-daughter of King Jielwa, and is said to bear a striking resemblance to her famous ancestor.

The Double-Prince Galdorr

On Unembre 6, Queen Neema gives birth to Prince Galdorr. Galdorr is both Yarsarian and Argen, and is next in line for the Yarsarian throne. He is fourteenth in line for the Argen throne, thanks to his many elderly uncles and their children.

Olekkian Princess

With King Tatharius now over 400 years old and having no heir, a quest begins to find a bride for Galdorr. Tatharius sends word out to The ManyRealms™, and the Olekkian Princess Uthendra Gallain visits Yarsaria. The princess is closely guarded by the most experienced woman in the entire Yarsarian military, Dame Heron Hammercrest. Galdorr and Heron meet for the first time. Prince Galdorr and Princess Uthendra have a brief, awkward and dispassionate courtship which ends abruptly.

Shyrian Princess

The Shyrian princess, Nyu Ubengol, visits Yarsar to court Prince Galdorr. Dame Heron is once again assigned to protect the visiting foreign princess from attacks by the Kingplague. Although Nyu and Galdorr become platonic friends, there is little romantic chemistry between them. As Nyu leaves Yarsar, she wishes Galdorr much love and happiness and promises to remain in contact via written letters.

Thrannasirren Princess

An Ichtish elf princess from Thrannasirren, Sintenna Xudu, comes to Yarsar. Concerned by reports of Kingplague attacks, Sintenna specifically requests that Dame Heron guard and advise her. Unlike other princesses, Sintenna seems genuinely smitten with Prince Galdorr. She makes every attempt to charm and please him. Sintenna leaves Yarsaria many months later in tears, mumbling about betrayal.

Follendi Princess

Princess Ghethune of Follendi arrives in Yarsar. Dame Heron requests to be assigned to protect the foreign royalty, but is declined by Gethune. The young and beautiful elf princess has blonde hair and green eyes, much like Heron herself. Ghethune has also brought her own guardian, Yundis Foltarre, who challenges Heron in mock combat and repeatedly attempts to seduce her.

Queen of Arralon

The White Queen of Arralon, Alladreia Salindrus Holgavinde, travels to Yarsar to meet and marry Prince Galdorr. Although she has her own royal guards, Dame Heron Hammercrest is assigned to the Queen’s defense. The confident and demanding Queen Arralon dominates the shy prince, and a date is scheduled for them to be wed the following year.

Wedding Ambush

The wedding of Prince Galdorr and Queen Alladreia of Arralon is interrupted on Juillet 7 by masked Kingplague attackers. Dame Heron defends Prince Galdorr and Queen Alladreia, saving their lives. King Tatharius and Queen Neema, however, are murdered during the attack. On Juillet 8, Alladreia anulls the marriage and leaves Yarsaria. Galdorr becomes the Fourth King of Yarsaria on Juillet 12. Seeking justice for Neema’s murder, Argen soldiers storm the streets of Yarsar, arresting elves suspected of having ties to The Kingplague. The Argen Renaissance ends. The Argen Inquisition begins.

Queen Heron

On Juillet 8, King Galdorr marries Dame Heron Hammercrest. Heron handles security herself, setting up multiple independent security teams in overlapping ovals of coverage. All Kingplague attempts to disrupt the wedding are foiled. 17 Kingsplague members are discovered and arrested along with 3 traitors inside the Yarsarian military.

Traitors Exposed

Argen Inquisitors infiltrate and expose dozens of top-level members of the Kingplague and bring them to justice. Hundreds of co-conspirators are arrested in the largest covert operation ever to take place in Yarsaria. The Kingplague’s goal is revealed: they sought to cancel the Ehrenfell Agreement by ending the line of Naramon. The Kingplague is defeated. The Argen Inquisition ends.

Lorthvend Day

On Consacrée 27, Lorthvend Ehrenfell is born. As the first child of King Galdorr and Queen Heron, Lorthvend is heir to the throne of Yarsaria, and also an Argen Prince. His birth is celebrated by both Yarsarians and The Argen so feverishly and with such excitement that the date is called Lorthvend Day. Lorthvend’s eyes are brown, which leads to speculation about his lineage. The accepted explanation is that Argen King Kuriel’s father was undisclosed, but likely had brown eyes.

Shyrian Princess Returns

On Consacrée 27, his own birthday, Lorthvend Ehrenfell marries the Shyrian Princess Lega Ubengol, a family friend whom he had known since childhood. Her mother, Nyu Ubengol attends the wedding. Even with the Kingplague defeated, Queen Heron insists on personally overseeing all security for the event.

Ulmond Ehrenfell

On Unembre 13, the second child of Galdorr and Heron is born. He takes the family name of his grandmother, Ulmond, as his first name. Ulmond has bright green eyes, like his mother, Heron.

Little Siegur

On Janvier 2, the third child of Galdorr and Heron, Siegur Ehrenfell, is born. Siegur has blue eyes, like his father and many of his ancestors. Ulmond has taken to dressing in armor and wants to be a knight like his mother. Ulmond swears to protect his little brother from evil threats like the Kingplague.

The Princeplague

On Juillet 7, the anniversary of the Kingplague’s most successful attack, a copycat group calling themselves the Princeplague attempts a coordinated assassination of all three Ehrenfell princes. 7-year-old Siegur is safely defended by his mother, Queen Heron. 15-year-old Ulmond is away at a Yarsarian military boarding school and slays all of his attackers. Tragically, 59-year-old Prince Lorthvend, heir to the throne of Yarsaria, is killed in Yarsar, though he valiantly manages to save his wife, Princess Lega, from harm. The Yarsarian and Argen people mourn the loss of the beloved firstborn heir.

Tragedy

King Galdorr falls ill and requests to see his son and heir, Prince Ulmond. Ulmond returns from an adventure in the realm of Woath carrying a mysterious, glowing purple sword. Galdorr shares with Ulmond the secrets of the Ehrenfell Agreement for the first time. King Galdorr slips into a coma, then dies on Holloween, Janvier 30, at the age of 286.

King Ulmond Ehrenfell

Ulmond Ehrenfell is coronated as the Fifth King of Yarsaria by Sennzia’s new Hexcaster General, Vedt. Vedt and King Ulmond meet at great length and appear to bond over shared values and beliefs.

Ulmond’s Castle

Construction begins on Ehrenfell Castle under the direction of Varone von Wersia. It is described by many as the most ambitious construction project ever undertaken in Yarsaria. It is also expected to be the most expensive project ever.

Joolese

Ulmond Ehrenfell marries Jooleese Nathauafa’i of Narmeth in an uncharacteristically romantic decision. Ulmond chooses to adhere to Argen tradition, and refuses to wear a crown during the ceremony. The union creates tension with the von Wersia family, as many had expected Ulmond to marry Veronica von Wersia, Varone’s younger sister. Varone denies any controversy and vows to finish Ehrenfell Castle, promising its completion as a wedding present.

Varone’s Magnum Opus

Varone von Wersia, with his young daughter and assistant, Vynthri von Wersia, unveils Ehrenfell Castle to King Ulmond as a belated wedding gift. The King is in awe of the flying fortress home and calls it the Jewel of Yarsar. The King and Queen move into the castle that very same day.

Argen King Ulmond

A series of natural deaths leave the Argen without another heir besides King Ulmond Ehrenfell. Ulmond becomes The Argen King, uniting the Argen and Yarsarian kingdoms as one. The ArgenPact and the Ehrenfell Agreement are also linked by this unity, and Ulmond’s power grows.

Skyshroom

On Glacée 29, a gigantic circular object suddenly appears in the sky over Venmouth. Thousands witness the object floating in the sky for several minutes, then it suddenly vanishes without a trace. Sennzian Hexcaster General Vedt arrives in Venmouth to investigate, and remains there until Ainée 8. After Vedt leaves, sightings of The CreeperJack begin to increase in Venmouth.

Lentarion

On Récolte 19, Prince Lentarion Ehrenfell is born. King Ulmond is already 428 years old by the time he has his first child with his wife Jooleese. He lays down his weapons to be a father first, and a king second. Ulmond lets Parliament govern as they see fit.

Dragons in Sennzia

Queen Jillian Floquet announces that dragons, long barred from entering Sennzia, are now welcome in the realm under certain conditions. She proclaims the mighty dragon Balkinitros as “Protector of the Realm” and grants him sovereign lands in the mountainous alpine forest known as The Greenway. Balkinitros is the ancient, hated enemy the Annokwi elves call “Realmbreaker.” Although her actions do not violate the Ehrenfell Agreement, Jillian’s news is received poorly in Yarsaria.

The War Begins

After petitioning Queen Jillian to have dragons once again banned from Sennzia and having his requests denied, King Ulmond Ehrenfell orders a full-scale invasion of The Greenway. Ulmond interprets that since Balkinitros independently rules The Greenway, an invasion of a sovereign land would not violate the Ehrenfell Agreement. The Yarsarian-Greenway war begins. The Argen are strategically withheld from all military involvement.

A New Viridian

With most able-bodied men sent off to the warfront, crime is on the rise in the island resort city of Narmeth. A mysterious green crusader appears to bring justice to criminals who would prey upon the weak. The people call her Viridian, after the Second King of Yarsaria, Alfheim Ehrenfell. The woman’s identity is unknown, but many begin to speculate as to what happened to King Alfheim after he abdicated the throne of Yarsaria to Tatharius.

Peace Talks

After two years of brutal losses by the elves, the dragons have taken Elves’ Bend, now called Elves’ End. Balkinitros and his lieutenants seize Wersia, killing Voldare von Wersia and his son, Valleth. The remaining elven skyfortresses retreat back. At his wife’s urging, Ulmond agrees to peace talks. Balkinitros comes to the Jewel of Yarsar to negotiate and meets Ulmond for the first time. Shots are fired and Balkinitros retaliates, killing Queen Jooleese. A faint whistling sound is reported to have been heard on the parapets before the clash. King Ulmond, enraged by the murder of his wife, calls upon the power of his purple sword, dubbed “Tragedy,” and chases Balkinitros, nearly killing him.

Treerot

Balkinitros unleashes his mightiest lieutenant, the monolithic eldritch dragon known as Treerot. Treerot decimates elven forces along the shifting Yarsaria-Greenway border, killing thousands of elves.

Absolute Monarchy

King Ulmond Ehrenfell ventures to the realm of Annokwi on a quest for both knowledge and revenge. The King returns from Annokwi wearing the hide of Balkinitros’ firstborn son, Erandimastimus, as armor. Ulmond murdered his enemy’s son as revenge for the killing of his wife, Jooleese. With crime continuing to rise and the war going poorly, King Ulmond declares martial law in Yarsaria. He sends his teenage son, Lentarion, to Narmeth for safety. Then, he disbands Parliament and assumes absolute control over Yarsaria.
