“Ice Elves”

Elves adapted to live in the extreme cold, Glacians are significantly shorter and smaller than other elves, only reaching the heights of a pre-teen human child.

While Glacian elves appear to have ordinary, light blue skin, a closer look reveals a surprise. Their skin is covered in short, thin, transparent hairs which are almost undetectable from a distance. Touching a Glacian reveals a waxy, fur-like layer over nearly the entirety of their bodies. This layer of thin fur protects them from wind chill and insulates them against harsh temperatures. It also allows them to swim for short distances in ice-cold water with little likelihood of hypothermic reaction.
