If political or governmental assistance is required, visitors to Narmeth are sure to come across the desk of the Head Clerk at the Royal Ministry of Narmeth, Dalsambian Seedspinner. Dalsambian is often referred to as “the most powerful man in Narmeth” thanks to his access & knowledge of all documents passing through the offices of the Ministry.

Dalsambian can delay a construction project or speed it through, depending on his whims. He can approve or deny official requests from nearly any authority short of the King himself. Even Prince Lentarion has learned that it is wholly unwise to get on Dalsambian’s bad side.

As home to Prince Lentarion, who is also a military commander, Narmeth has no governor. Since the time of Alfheim and the Crab Siege of Narmeth, government on the island was established independently from other cities in Yarsaria. As a remote island, the city was required to be responsible for its own defense. It also needed its own legal system of courts and documentation, resulting in the establishment of the Royal Ministry of Narmeth.

Dalsambian was appointed as Head Clerk of the Royal Ministry of Narmeth 495 years ago by King Galdorr. He has been Head Clerk at the Ministry for longer than King Ulmond has been alive. Dalsambian is over 600 years old, but has no intention of stepping down from his position any time soon.
